Mae Fah Luang University is a public university located on a 2,000-acre plot of land at the foot of Doi Ngaem, about a mile off Paholyothin Road to the east, in the Muang District of Chiang Rai province, approximately 10 miles from downtown Chiang Rai.

Programs Offered :

          In the academic year 2008, Mae Fah Luang University will offer 28 bachelor's degree programs as detailed below.

1. Bachelor of Arts Program in English

This program primarily aims to produce graduates well-equipped with not only English language proficiency, but also skills in operating information technology systems at an international level. It encourages the ability to effectively apply English language, and business and technology skills to career pursuits.

2. Bachelor of Arts Program in Business Chinese

The primary aim of this program is to produce graduates capable of using Chinese language as a basic tool in business practices, with additional emphases on business administration skills and English communication ability so as to prepare them for occupational or entrepreneurial pursuit.

3. Bachelor of Arts Program in Thai Language and Culture.

This is a program for non-Thais, aimed at producing graduates who have mastered the Thai language listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, and have knowledge and understanding of Thai customs, culture, concept, attitude and lifestyle, so that they can effectively communicate in daily life and in their career.

4. Bachelor of Education Program in Teaching Chinese Language.

The primary aim of this program is to produce teachers who have the knowledge and skills of teaching Chinese listening, speaking, reading, writing, and Chinese culture, and the pedagogy in order to teach at any level of education. Graduates should also have good morals and professional ethics.
Remarks: Applicants to this program must be proficient in Chinese speaking, reading, and writing.

This program concentrates on modern accounting theories and their application to accounting practice in authentic work settings, focusing on account-auditing, accounting software and the application of information technology to accounting, in order to produce graduates who are skilled in performing accounting work at internationally accepted standards.

This program is a theoretical and analytical study of the Thai economy in relation to global economy. This program focuses mainly on alternative Thai medical practices in the fields of applied medicine, physiotherapy, pharmacy and obstetrics in harmony with modern medical practices, with added emphasis on biology for medical science, in order to prepare qualified medical personnel for both the public and private sectors. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the government examination to be licensed for medical practice.

27. Bachelor of Nursing Science

This program aims at producing nurses who have the knowledge and skills in tending to individuals and the community, enhancing their health care, preventing diseases and injury, rehabilitation and caring for patients, the crippled, and those terminally-ill, protecting their rights, and arranging for safe environments.
It uses a student-centered learning approach, aiming at giving students the chance to develop independent thinking, good judgment, morals and professional ethics and life-long learning habit, and adapt themselves to changes in todays multi-culture society.

28. Bachelor of Physical Therapy Program

This program offers knowledge and understanding in the physical therapy profession. Graduates will be able to efficiently and effectively examine, assess and treat people with physical impairments, give preventative, remedial and rehabilitative services, and use the holistic approach to assist in healing physical and mental disorders.
