Academic Programs

 

 

1. Master of Arts (Cultural Studies)
This program concentrates on producing graduates equipped with profound ability to do cultural research, skills to analyze cultural issues, ability to develop new domains of cultural knowledge and ability to apply academic knowledge to cop with change. This program aims to generate cooperation, understanding and peace on the basis of equality amidst cultural, economic and political diversity in the Greater Mekhong Subregion. This program is available in two study-plans.

Plan A (1): This plan places heavy emphasis on thesis writing, which is translated to a minimum of 36 credits, in order to present new findings or knowledge domains. Students may be required to take certain courses or do academic activities, both on a non-credit basis.

Plan A (2): This plan requires students to take 18 core courses and 6 electives, in addition to writing a 12 credit thesis, to complete a total of 36 credits.

2. Master of Public Administration Program
This program aims to stimulate students acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge including the ethics of public administration and related fields, and internationally accepted administrative concepts, with the ability to harmonize public and private operating principles. This program is available in two study-plans.

Plan A (2): This plan requires students to fulfill core courses, electives, and a thesis, as specified in the curriculum.

Plan B: For this plan, students have to fulfill credits for core courses and electives as required by the curriculum and have to pass a comprehensive examination administered by the university.

3. Master of Education (Education Management)
The principal objectives of this program are to enable students to develop far-sighted initiatives to cope with educational and socio-economic changes in society, to manage and utilize educational resources productively, to apply business management principles to education, to have leadership characteristics and ability to improve their affiliated organizations, and to maintain integrity and ethics so as to ensure effectual learning on the learners part. This program is available in three study-plans.

Plan A (1): this plan requires students to take a non credit course in research seminar or other non-credit courses as the School deems necessary, in order to be trained in research methodology. Final requirements for graduation include thesis and defense thereof.

Plan A (2): This requires students to fulfill core courses, electives, and a thesis, as specified in the curriculum

Plan B: For this plan, students have to fulfill credits for courses as required by the curriculum, write a research paper, and pass a comprehensive examination administered by the university.

4. Master of Arts (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language)
This program primarily aims to produce graduates who possess knowledge and skills dealing with teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and are able to apply their knowledge to real teaching situations, as well as analyze and develop their own Chinese language skills taken from the course. This program is available in two study-plans.

Plan A (2) : This plan requires students to fulfill 18 core courses and 6 electives, in addition to writing a 12- credit thesis, to complete a total of 36 credits.

Plan B: For this plan, students have to fulfill credits for courses as required by the curriculum, write a research paper and pass a comprehensive examination administered by the university.

5. Master of Arts (Chinese Translation and Interpretation)
This program primarily aims to produce graduates who possess knowledge and skills dealing with translating and interpreting Chinese into Thai and vice versa. This program is available in two study-plans.
