    The School of Information Technology offers high end, unique, multi-dimensional, full time Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in information technology. The courses are designed, developed and delivered by active practitioners of IT, under the guidance of an internationally acclaimed panel of visionary industry leaders and innovators advancing IT research.

    All of the programmes in the School of IT are combined with other complementary subjects to equip students with all the tools needed for success. These tools include training in self-management, leadership and foreign languages. Additionally, there are extensive facilities for creative pursuits in the amazing high-tech and natural environment of Mae Fah Luang University.

    Bachelor of Engineering Programme in Computer Engineering

    (29,250 Baht per semester; 234, 000 Baht per programme)

    This programme intends to develop international-quality graduates in computer engineering that have specific knowledge in designing, planning, applying, creating, and maintaining computer and information systems, including both hardware and software. In addition to the academic knowledge, the graduates are also full of merit, morality, ethics, and have an awareness of environmental and energy conservation, which leads to long-term sustainable development.

    Objectives:

    After completing the programme, graduates will be able to:

    • Gain knowledge and the capability both theoretically and practically in computer engineering at an international level and have the technical expertise in design and planning to apply in the building and maintenance of both hardware, software and computer systems. 
    • Have the knowledge and capability of computer hardware and software, design of embedded systems, as well as in the application of computer systems for industry.  
    • Have the knowledge and capability both of embedded systems and the ambient intelligent environment.
    • Have the initiative and capability of independent study and continuous research.

    This programme is designed to foster and develop graduates to be experts in the field of information and communication engineering at an international level. Graduates will have skills in designing, planning, applying, creating, synthesising, and maintaining the communication networks, computer networks, and information systems. In addition, graduates will be full of merit, morality, and professional ethics, which lead to sustainable development.

    The principal emphasis of this programme is to produce world-class graduates in computer science with excellent academic knowledge, creative thinking, and the ability to analyse problems, especially in the areas of computer networks, data communications, and software engineering, and to enhance the morality of the graduates along with professional ethics to perform in any organisation that leads to the sustainable development of the country.

    Bachelor of Science Programme in Multimedia Technology and Animation

    The principal emphasis of this programme is on computer animation development, multimedia applications and graphics design theory. The course is an integration of three related majors including computer animation, mobile application, and computer games. Graduates will be experts in software development and design of toolsets for information technology and computer games.

    • Have a wide knowledge regarding technology, multimedia and animation.
    • Have obtained abilities in multimedia computer technology, including animation and media production, web design and development, creating software for portable devices and creating computer games.

    Master of Engineering Programme in Computer Engineering

    With an approach to social and economic development of Thailand and countries around the world, this programme focuses on applying knowledge along with technology as the basis for development to support the change from an information society to a knowledge society, focusing on the information and communication technologies as a key factor. Computer and digital technology has become the foundation needed for equipment and technology in the social and economic development of countries around the world. In Thailand, the current policy of reforming the public sector, industrial enterprises and other businesses is based on digital technology and computers. Institutions are required to produce high-level computer engineers. The aim of the School of Information Technology is to produce computer engineers skilled in terms of research, analysis and problem solving in technical terms, including computer engineering and digital technologies as a response to the changes of nation, industrial enterprises and other businesses based on digital technology and computers.

    The Master of Science Programme in Information Technology is designed to provide an intensive education in the management of information technology. It coordinates with the theoretical foundations of information technology, the applied practice, and the use of knowledge to solve practical problems. These can be achieved through formal lectures in multimedia projection systems, modern laboratories, and joint projects with industry. The aim is to produce effective professionals, information technologists, who will be serving the rapid growth of the IT industry in Thailand, and to support the cooperation in the information technology among ASEAN countries.

    Objectives:
    After completing the programme, graduates will be able to:

    • Have a quality standard of knowledge and skills in information technology.
    • Have theoretical and practical knowledge in information systems in order to meet both public and private needs.

    Doctor of Philosophy Programme in Computer Engineering

    This program intends to deliver doctoral level researchers, lecturers and engineers in the computer engineering field, to support the rapid changes in technology which is significantly affecting economic, social and environmental development. The graduates will have abilities in the research and development of new technologies or solutions to solve national and ASEAN engineering problems with appropriate ethics. The program also cultivates student to have a sense of lifelong learning and technology follow-up especially in their related fields. In addition, the graduates will have skill in teaching, transferring and servicing appropriate academic contents to support sustainable development for the whole
    country.
