เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 15 มกราคม 2569 พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรเมนทรรามาธิบดีศรีสินทรมหาวชิราลงกรณ พระวชิรเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสุทิดา พัชรสุธาพิมลลักษณ พระบรมราชินี เสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปทรงเปิดพระราชานุสาวรีย์สมเด็จพระมหิตลาธิเบศร อดุลยเดชวิกรม พระบรมราชชนก ประทับคู่สมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี ณ โรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ตำบลนางแล อำเภอเมืองเชียงราย จังหวัดเชียงราย

โดยมีรองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเชียงราย ผู้พิพากษาหัวหน้าศาลจังหวัดเชียงราย ผู้บัญชาการมณฑลทหารบกที่ 37 ผู้บังคับการตำรวจภูธรจังหวัดเชียงราย ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ศิริชนะ นายกสภามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.มัชฌิมา นราดิศร อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง พร้อมกรรมการสภามหาวิทยาลัย คณาจารย์ บุคลากร นักศึกษา และประชาชน เฝ้าฯ รับเสด็จอย่างเนืองแน่น

การจัดสร้างพระราชานุสาวรีย์ฯ เพื่อแสดงความจงรักภักดีต่อพระบรมราชจักรีวงศ์ และเพื่อน้อมรำลึกถึงพระเกียรติคุณ พระมหากรุณาธิคุณ และสืบสานพระราชปณิธานแห่งสมเด็จพระมหิตลาธิเบศร อดุลยเดชวิกรม พระบรมราชชนก "พระบิดาแห่งการแพทย์แผนปัจจุบันของไทย" และ "พระบิดาแห่งการสาธารณสุขไทย" ที่ทรงดำเนินพระราชจริยาวัตรอันงดงาม ในฐานะแพทย์ที่มีพระทัยเปี่ยมล้นด้วยพระเมตตา ทรงอุทิศพระวรกาย พระสติปัญญา และพระราชทรัพย์ส่วนพระองค์ในการวางรากฐานระบบการศึกษาที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อวงการแพทย์ การสาธารณสุข การพยาบาล และการศึกษาวิทยาศาสตร์ระดับอุดมศึกษาของประเทศให้เจริญรุ่งเรืองตามมาตรฐานสากล

พร้อมทั้งน้อมรำลึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณของสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี "พระมารดาแห่งการสาธารณสุขไทย" และ "พระมารดาแห่งการทันตแพทย์ไทย" เพื่อเป็นที่ยึดเหนี่ยวจิตใจของบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ นักศึกษา ผู้มารับบริการ และประชาชนทั่วไป

พระราชานุสาวรีย์ฯ จัดสร้างด้วยวัสดุซิลิคอนบรอนซ์หรือทองสัมฤทธิ์ มีขนาดสองเท่าของพระองค์จริง โดยสมเด็จพระมหิตลาธิเบศร อดุลยเดชวิกรม พระบรมราชชนก ประทับยืน และสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี ประทับนั่งบนพระเก้าอี้ บนแท่นฐานเดียวกัน ประดิษฐาน ณ บริเวณด้านหน้าอาคารโรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง โดยนายชำนาญ แก้วจันทร์ส่อง เป็นประติมากรผู้ปั้นแบบ

ในพิธีการ ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ศิริชนะ นายกสภามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง กราบบังคมทูลสำนึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณ และผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.มัชฌิมา นราดิศร อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง กราบบังคมทูลรายงานวัตถุประสงค์ของการจัดสร้างพระราชานุสาวรีย์ฯ

จากนั้นพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว เสด็จฯ ไปยังแท่นพิธี ทรงกดปุ่มไฟฟ้าเปิดแพรคลุมป้ายพระราชานุสาวรีย์ฯ พระสงฆ์เจริญชัยมงคลคาถา กองทหารเกียรติยศถวายความเคารพ ดุริยางค์บรรเลงเพลงสรรเสริญพระบารมี และชาวพนักงานลั่นฆ้องชัยประโคมสังข์ แตร ดุริยางค์ อย่างพร้อมเพรียง

ต่อมา พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว เสด็จขึ้นลานพระราชานุสาวรีย์ฯ ทรงเจิมแผ่นคำจารึกที่ฐานพระราชานุสาวรีย์ฯ ทรงวางพุ่มดอกไม้ ทรงจุดธูปเทียนเครื่องทองน้อยถวายราชสักการะ ทรงกราบ ตามด้วยสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินี ทรงวางพุ่มดอกไม้ ทรงจุดธูปเทียนเครื่องทองน้อยถวายราชสักการะ ทรงกราบเช่นกัน
หลังจากนั้น เสด็จฯ เข้าพลับพลาพิธี ทรงประเคนจตุปัจจัยไทยธรรมถวายพระสงฆ์ ทรงหลั่งทักษิโณทก พระสงฆ์ถวายอนุโมทนาและถวายอดิเรก

จากนั้นศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ศิริชนะ นายกสภามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง เข้าเฝ้าฯ ทูลเกล้าฯ ถวายเงินโดยเสด็จพระราชกุศลตามพระราชอัธยาศัย และผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.มัชฌิมา นราดิศร อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง กราบบังคมทูลเบิกผู้มีอุปการคุณต่อมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงเข้าเฝ้าฯ รับพระราชทานของที่ระลึก จำนวน 18 ราย

ในโอกาสนี้ พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินี ทรงปลูกต้นรวงผึ้ง ณ บริเวณหน้าอาคาร ก่อนเสด็จไปยังอาคารโรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง เพื่อฉายพระบรมฉายาลักษณ์ร่วมกับสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินี คณะกรรมการสภามหาวิทยาลัย ผู้บริหาร และผู้มีอุปการคุณของมหาวิทยาลัย

จากนั้นศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ศิริชนะ นายกสภามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง น้อมเกล้าฯ ถวายพระรูปจำลองพระราชานุสาวรีย์พระบรมราชชนกและพระบรมราชชนนี ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.มัชฌิมา นราดิศร อธิการบดี ทูลเกล้าฯ ถวายเหรียญที่ระลึกแด่สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินี ก่อนเสด็จพระราชดำเนินกลับ

มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงได้รับการจัดตั้งเป็นสถาบันอุดมศึกษาในกำกับของรัฐเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2541 เพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์แห่งความจงรักภักดีและสืบสานพระราชปณิธาน "ปลูกป่า สร้างคน" ของสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี ต่อมาได้จัดสร้างโรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงตามดำริของศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ศิริชนะ อธิการบดีผู้ก่อตั้ง เพื่อเป็นศูนย์รวมการศึกษา วิจัย และการให้บริการทางการแพทย์แก่ประชาชนทุกระดับในจังหวัดเชียงรายและพื้นที่ใกล้เคียง

ปัจจุบันศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง มีหน่วยงานเกี่ยวข้องประกอบด้วย โรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง สำนักวิชาแพทยศาสตร์ และสำนักวิชาทันตแพทยศาสตร์ โดยมีเป้าหมายให้ประชาชนมีสุขภาพดีทุกช่วงวัย ได้รับการรักษาด้วยศาสตร์การแพทย์ที่ทันสมัยอย่างบูรณาการ และสามารถเข้าถึงบริการได้โดยสะดวกโดยไม่เลือกชนชั้น ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับการสืบสานพระราชปณิธานของพระบรมราชชนกและพระบรมราชชนนี

การจัดสร้างพระราชานุสาวรีย์ครั้งนี้ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากมูลนิธิ 100 ปี สมเด็จพระศรีนครินทร์ และประชาชน เพื่อเทิดพระเกียรติและเป็นอนุสรณ์แห่งความจงรักภักดี รวมทั้งให้บุคลากร นักศึกษา และประชาชนทั่วไปได้ประจักษ์ในพระเกียรติคุณและดำเนินรอยตามเบื้องพระยุคลบาทสืบไป

Their Majesties the King and Queen Grace the Unveiling of the Royal Monument at Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center

CHIANG RAI, Thailand – His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana graciously presided over the unveiling of the Royal Monument of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, the Prince of Songkla, depicted alongside Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother, at Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center Hospital in Chiang Rai Province on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The royal ceremony took place at the hospital in Nang Lae Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Rai District, in the presence of senior provincial and judicial officials, including the Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai Province, the Chief Judge of the Chiang Rai Provincial Court, the Commander of the 37th Military Circle, and the Chiang Rai Provincial Police Commander.
Also in attendance were Distinguished Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Chair of the Mae Fah Luang University Council; Assistant Professor Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University; as well as members of the University Council, faculty, staff, students, and the public.

The Royal Monument stands as an expression of loyalty to the Chakri Dynasty and as a tribute to the enduring legacy of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, revered as the "Father of Modern Medicine in Thailand" and the "Father of Public Health in Thailand." His lifelong dedication–through intellect, compassion, and personal resources–established the foundation of Thailand’s modern systems of medical education, public health, nursing, and higher scientific education in line with international standards.

The monument also commemorates the boundless benevolence of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother, honored as the "Mother of Public Health in Thailand" and the "Mother of Thai Dentistry." Her enduring legacy continues to serve as a source of inspiration and moral strength for medical professionals, students, patients, and the wider community.

Crafted from silicon bronze at twice life size, the monument portrays His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol standing beside Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, who is seated, both positioned on a shared pedestal at the front of Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center Hospital. The sculpture was created by Thai sculptor Mr. Chamnan Kaewchansong.

During the ceremony, Distinguished Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana respectfully expressed profound gratitude for the royal benevolence, while Assistant Professor Dr. Matchima Naradisorn formally reported on the objectives of the monument's construction. His Majesty the King then performed the official unveiling as Buddhist monks chanted auspicious blessings, accompanied by ceremonial honors and the royal anthem.

His Majesty ascended the monument platform, and performed the anointing of the inscription plaque at the base of the monument, followed by the placing of a floral offering, the lighting of incense and candles as a royal tribute, and a royal prostration. Her Majesty the Queen then followed with the same ceremonial rites.

Their Majesties subsequently paid royal homage at the monument and participated in merit-making rites with members of the Sangha. On this occasion, Distinguished Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana presented monetary offerings for royal merit-making, while Assistant Professor Dr. Matchima Naradisorn introduced 18 benefactors of Mae Fah Luang University to receive commemorative tokens graciously bestowed by His Majesty in royal recognition.

As part of the royal visit, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen each planted a Yellow Star tree in the vicinity of the Royal Monument, symbolizing growth, prosperity and continuity. Their Majesties also granted a royal photograph with university leaders, council members, senior executives, and benefactors. Before Their Majesties’ departure, Distinguished Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana respectfully presented a miniature replica of the Royal Monument, while Assistant Professor Dr. Matchima Naradisorn respectfully offered commemorative medals. .

Mae Fah Luang University, established in 1998 as an autonomous public higher education institution, was founded to express loyalty and carry forward the royal aspiration of "Plant Forests, Build People" initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra. The Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center Hospital was subsequently established under the vision of Distinguished Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, the founding president, to serve as an integrated hub for medical education, research, and healthcare services for the people of Chiang Rai Province and neighboring regions.

Today, the Medical Center comprises the Medical Center Hospital, the School of Medicine, and the School of Dentistry, united by a shared mission to promote health and well-being across all stages of life through accessible, integrated and modern medical care–reflecting the enduring royal ideals of Prince Mahidol and the Princess Mother.

The construction of this Royal Monument was made possible through the support of the 100th Anniversary of Princess Srinagarindra Foundation and contributions from the public, standing as a lasting symbol of reverence and an enduring reminder for future generations to follow in their noble footsteps.
