มฟล. จับมือ กระทรวงต่างประเทศ เปิดเวทีวิชาการหารือความท้าทายข้ามพรมแดนในอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง

วันที่ 20 มกราคม 2569 มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ร่วมกับศูนย์ศึกษาการต่างประเทศ (ISC) กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ จัดการสัมมนาในหัวข้อ "ความท้าทายข้ามพรมแดนในยุคเปลี่ยนผ่าน: มิติใหม่ของความร่วมมือในอนุภูมิภาค" โดยมีศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สุจิตรา วงศ์เกษมจิตต์ รองอธิการบดี เป็นประธานในพิธี พร้อมด้วยผู้บริหาร บุคลากร นักศึกษา และผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และภาคประชาชน กว่า 100 คน ร่วมงาน ณ ห้องประชุมคำมอกหลวง มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง

การสัมมนาครั้งนี้เป็นเวทีแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับประเด็นปัญหาและโอกาสของความร่วมมือในพื้นที่บริเวณชายแดนและอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง ครอบคลุมมิติเศรษฐกิจ สังคม สิ่งแวดล้อม และความมั่นคง ซึ่งส่งผลกระทบโดยตรงต่อวิถีชีวิตประชาชนในพื้นที่ โดยมุ่งระดมความคิดเห็นจากภาคส่วนต่างๆ เพื่อสะท้อนมุมมองเชิงลึกและนำไปสู่แนวทางความร่วมมือที่สอดคล้องกับบริบทจริง

ภายในงานมีการปาฐกถาพิเศษในหัวข้อ "การต่างประเทศของไทย: ความต่อเนื่องและความเปลี่ยนแปลง" โดย ดร.อนุสนธิ์ ชินวรรโณ ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ศึกษาการต่างประเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และการบรรยายในหัวข้อ "การแข่งขันทางยุทธศาสตร์และความเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลก" โดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.จิตตภัทร พูนขำ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและวิเทศสัมพันธ์ คณะรัฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการสัมมนาทางวิชาการโดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจากหลากหลายสาขา ประกอบด้วย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธนิกุล จันทรา คณบดีสำนักวิชานวัตกรรมสังคม มฟล., ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.อภิสม อินทรลาวัณย์ สำนักวิชาการจัดการ มฟล., คุณพัฒนา สิทธิสมบัติ ประธานคณะกรรมการเพื่อโครงการสี่เหลี่ยมเศรษฐกิจ หอการค้า 10 จังหวัดภาคเหนือ และรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธวัชชัย อภิเดชกุล สำนักวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพ มฟล. โดยมี ว่าที่ร้อยตรีเสกสรร อานันทศิริเกียรติ นักวิจัยอาวุโส ศูนย์ศึกษาการต่างประเทศ ทำหน้าที่ดำเนินรายการ

ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สุจิตรา วงศ์เกษมจิตต์ รองอธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง กล่าวว่า อนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง (GMS) เป็นพื้นที่ที่มีความสำคัญเชิงยุทธศาสตร์และสะท้อนความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างประเทศอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม ความร่วมมือในอนุภูมิภาคจึงจำเป็นต้อง อาศัยความเข้าใจเชิงลึกต่อบริบทพื้นที่ ตลอดจนองค์ความรู้ที่รอบด้านและทันต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลก

มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวงในฐานะสถาบันอุดมศึกษาที่ตั้งอยู่บนพื้นที่อนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง มีบทบาทและความรับผิดชอบโดยตรงในการพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ด้านชายแดนและอนุภูมิภาค ทั้งในด้านการวิจัย การจัดการเรียนการสอน และการให้บริการวิชาการแก่สังคม โดยเชื่อมั่นว่าองค์ความรู้ที่ตั้งอยู่บนฐานของพื้นที่จริงและความเข้าใจบริบทชายแดน จะเป็นพลังสำคัญในการสนับสนุนความร่วมมือที่ยั่งยืน

MFU Partners with Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Host Academic Forum on Cross-Border Challenges in the Mekong Subregion

On January 20, 2025, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), in collaboration with the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, convened an academic seminar titled "Cross-Border Challenges in an Era of Transition: New Dimensions of Subregional Cooperation." The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of MFU, and brought together more than 100 participants, including university executives, faculty members, students, and representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and civil society. The seminar took place at Kham Mok Luang Conference Room, Mae Fah Luang University.

The seminar provided a multidisciplinary platform for in-depth dialogue on emerging challenges and opportunities for cooperation in border areas and the Mekong Subregion.Discussions addressed key economic, social, environmental, and security dimensions that directly affect local communities, with an emphasis on integrating diverse perspectives  to inform  collaborative approaches grounded in real-world contexts.

The program featured a keynote lecture on "Thailand's Foreign Policy: Continuity and Change" by Dr. Anusorn Chinwanno, Director of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.This was followed by a special lecture on "Strategic Competition and Global Transformation" by Associate Professor Dr. Jittaphat Poonkham, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and International Relations, Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University.

The academic panel discussions brought together distinguished experts from a wide range of disciplines,including Assistant Professor Dr. Thanikul Chandra, Dean of the School of Social Innovation, MFU; Assistant Professor Dr. Apisom Intralawan, School of Management, MFU; Mr. Pattana Sitthisombat, Chairman of the Committee for the Quadrangle Economic Development Project, Chamber of Commerce of the 10 Northern Provinces; and Associate Professor Dr. Thawatchai Apidechkul, School of Health Science, MFU. The session was moderated by Acting Sub-Lieutenant Seksarn Anandasirikiate, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies.

Professor Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University, highlighted that the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) holds significant strategic importance as a space where cross-border interconnectedness is clearly manifested.  She emphasized that effective subregional cooperation must be built upon a deep understanding of local contexts, complemented by comprehensive and forward-looking knowledge that responds to global transformations.

As a higher education institution located in the Mekong Subregion, Mae Fah Luang University plays a direct and active role in advancing knowledge related to border and subregional issues through research, teaching and learning, and academic engagement with society. The university firmly believes that knowledge rooted in local realities  and border dynamics serves as a critical foundations for fostering  sustainable cooperation.

"Today's seminar functions not only as an academic forum, but also as a space for connecting knowledge, experience, and perspectives from academia, government, and the private sector,” Professor Dr. Sujitra concluded.  “Our strong collaboration with the Institute of Strategic and International Studies concretely demonstrates the integration of academic expertise with foreign policy and international affairs.”
