มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง (มฟล.) โดยอาจารย์ ดร.ณัฐวุฒิ ยอดสุวรรณ รองอธิการบดี อาจารย์ศรุตนันท์ โสภณิก ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดี พร้อมรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.พลวัฒ ประพัฒน์ทอง หัวหน้าสถาบันศิลปวัฒนธรรมและอารยธรรมลุ่มน้ำโขง มฟล. พร้อมทีมนักวิจัย ร่วมเปิดงานเทศกาล "สีสันแห่งดอยตุง ครั้งที่ 12" โดยนำเสนอผลงานวิจัยศิลปะการประดิษฐ์ตัวละคร "หมานหมาน" ที่สะท้อนอัตลักษณ์และวิถีชีวิตชาวเชียงแสน ณ สวนแม่ฟ้าหลวง โครงการพัฒนาดอยตุงอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ อำเภอแม่ฟ้าหลวง จังหวัดเชียงราย

งานเทศกาลฯ จัดโดยมูลนิธิแม่ฟ้าหลวง ในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ ร่วมกับ ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท ไทยเบฟเวอเรจ จำกัด (มหาชน) สำนักงานส่งเสริมการจัดประชุมและนิทรรศการ (TCEB) สำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ (CEA) มฟล. และการบินไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) ภายใต้แนวคิด The Monsters' Journey "Blooming Inspiration" ผจญภัยไปกับเหล่าผู้พิทักษ์ป่าดอยตุง สานต่อแรงบันดาลใจจากฟากฟ้า จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 2 ธันวาคม 2568 - 25 มกราคม 2569 ทุกวันเสาร์-อาทิตย์ และวันหยุดนักขัตฤกษ์ เวลา 08.00-18.00 น. โดยมีนายรุจติศักดิ์ รังษี รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเชียงราย เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดงาน

นายรุจติศักดิ์ รังษี รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเชียงราย กล่าวว่า งานมีความสำคัญต่อเศรษฐกิจ การท่องเที่ยว และวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น ช่วยสร้างรายได้ให้ชุมชน กระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจช่วงฤดูท่องเที่ยว และเป็นตัวอย่างการจัดงานที่ยั่งยืน สมดุลระหว่างเศรษฐกิจ สังคม และสิ่งแวดล้อม

นายประเสริฐ ตรงเจริญเกียรติ ประธานสายปฏิบัติการธุรกิจเพื่อสังคม มูลนิธิแม่ฟ้าหลวง กล่าวว่า เทศกาลนี้จัดต่อเนื่องเป็นปีที่ 12 เพื่อส่งเสริมและอนุรักษ์วัฒนธรรมชนเผ่า เพิ่มศักยภาพผู้ประกอบการชุมชน และสร้างความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคนเมืองกับชุมชนดอยตุง โดยเน้นการเป็นงานปลอดคาร์บอน (Carbon Neutral Event) ด้วยบรรจุภัณฑ์เป็นมิตรสิ่งแวดล้อม ลดพลาสติก จัดการขยะเป็นระบบ และใช้ Reusable Container ไฮไลต์ปีนี้คือตัวละคร "พี่โต" และ "หมานหมาน" ผลงานร่วมกับนักวิจัย มฟล. ที่ถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวอนุรักษ์ธรรมชาติและวัฒนธรรมในรูปแบบร่วมสมัย

รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.พลวัฒ ประพัฒน์ทอง หัวหน้าสถาบันศิลปวัฒนธรรมและอารยธรรมลุ่มน้ำโขง มฟล. เจ้าของผลงานวิจัยศิลปะการประดิษฐ์ "หมาน หมาน" อธิบายว่า มี 4 ตัวละครที่สะท้อนเอกลักษณ์และวิถีชีวิตชาวเชียงแสน ได้แก่ 'นาคา' ผู้พิทักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสัญลักษณ์จิตสำนึกรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม 'มาลี' สะท้อนความหลากหลายทางชาติพันธุ์และความสันติสุข 'อัคคี' ตัวแทนภูมิปัญญาอาหารท้องถิ่นและพลังชีวิตในวัฒนธรรมการกิน และ 'สะหลีเมือง' ผู้พิทักษ์หัวใจเมืองเชียงแสน สัญลักษณ์การปกป้องเมืองและการต้อนรับผู้มาเยือนด้วยไมตรีจิต

กิจกรรมภายในงานประกอบด้วย The Monsters' Journey Quest ถ่ายภาพเช็กอิน 6 จุดกับ "พี่โตและผองเพื่อน" ลุ้นรางวัล สวนดอกไม้ลายชนเผ่า ถนนคนเดินดอยตุง นิทรรศการและเวิร์กชอป Doi Tung Starry Night และคอนเสิร์ต JAZZ IN THE MAE FAH LUANG GARDEN "ในดวงใจนิรันดร์" โดยศิลปินจากรัสเซีย วันเสาร์ที่ 20 ธันวาคม 2568 เวลา 16.00-18.00 น. ณ ศาลาแก้ว

MFU Joins Opening of 12th "Colors of Doi Tung” Festival; " Unveils "MaanMaan" Character Series Reflecting Chiang Saen Identity

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), participated in the opening of the 12th “Colors of Doi Tung” festival, presenting a research-driven series of character artworks titled “Maan Maan” that reflects the cultural identity and way of life of Chiang Saen. The university delegation included Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattawut Yodsuwon, Vice President, Asst. Prof. Sarutanan Sophonnik, Assistant to the President, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ponlawat Prapattong, Director of the Institute for Mekong Basin Civilization, Art and Culture , MFU, together with the MFU research team. The exhibition took place at Mae Fah Luang Garden, Doi Tung Development Project Under Royal Initiative, Mae Fah Luang District, Chiang Rai Province.

The festival is organized by Mae Fah Luang Foundation Under Royal Patronage in collaboration with Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Creative Economy Agency (CEA), MFU, and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited. Under the theme "The Monsters' Journey: Blooming Inspiration”, the festival invites visitors to embark on an adventure with the guardians of the Doi Tung forest, continuing a stream of inspiration drawn from the sky. The event runs from December 2, 2025 to January 25, 2026, and is open on weekends (Saturdays-Sundays) and public holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Presiding over the opening ceremony, Mr. Rujitisak Rangsi, Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai Province, remarked that the festival plays a significant role in supporting the local economy, promoting tourism, and showcasing cultural heritage. He emphasized that the event generates income for local communities, stimulates seasonal tourism activity, and serves as a model of sustainable event management that balances economic, social, and environmental objectives.

Mr. Prasert Trongjareankiat, Chief Operating Officer for Social Business, Mae Fah Luang Foundation, noted that this festival—now in its twelfth consecutive year—aims to promote and conserve hill-tribe cultures, strengthen the capacity of community entrepreneurs, and foster connections between urban visitors and the Doi Tung communities. This year’s festival prioritizes sustainability as a Carbon Neutral Event through eco-friendly packaging, reduced use of plastics , systematic waste management, and the adoption of reusable containers. Highlights include the characters "Pee Toh" and "Maan Maan," created in collaboration with MFU researchers to communicate contemporary narratives of nature and cultural conservation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ponlawat Prapattong, the principal researcher behind the "Maan Maan" project explained that the series comprises four characters inspired by Chiang Saen’s identity and local lifestyle: 'Naga' as guardian of natural resources and symbol of environmental stewardship, 'Malee' representing ethnic diversity and communal harmony, 'Agni' embodying local culinary wisdom and the life force in food culture, and 'Salee Mueang' as guardian of Chiang Saen's heart, symbolizing protection of the town and hospitality toward visitors.

Festival activities include The Monsters' Journey Quest, which features six photo check-in stations with "Pee Toh and Friends" and offers prizes for participants, a tribal pattern flower gardens, the Doi Tung Walking Street, exhibitions and workshops under the Doi Tung Starry Night program; and a concert titled "Forever in Our Hearts" (JAZZ IN THE MAE FAH LUANG GARDEN) performed by artists from Russia on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Sala Kaew.
