สำนักวิชาแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ร่วมกับโรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง เปิดตัวโครงการ "720 สายใย คลอดปลอดภัย ไร้ค่าใช้จ่าย" อย่างเป็นทางการ เมื่อวันที่ 10 มิถุนายน 2569 ณ โรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง จังหวัดเชียงราย มุ่งให้บริการฝากครรภ์และคลอดบุตรแก่สตรีกลุ่มเปราะบาง 720 ราย โดยไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย เพื่อน้อมเกล้าน้อมกระหม่อมถวายเป็นพระราชกุศลเนื่องในโอกาสที่สมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ทรงเจริญพระชนมายุ 72 พรรษา

พิธีเปิดโครงการมี ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ศิริชนะ นายกสภามหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง เป็นประธาน พร้อมด้วย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.มัชฌิมา นราดิศร อธิการบดี รองศาสตราจารย์ นพ.ปรีชา สุนทรานันท์ คณบดีสำนักวิชาแพทยศาสตร์ แพทย์หญิงอัจฉรา ละอองนวลพานิช ผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ตลอดจนนายชูชีพ พงษ์ไชย ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเชียงราย ผู้แทนภาครัฐและเครือข่ายสาธารณสุขในพื้นที่เข้าร่วมโดยพร้อมเพรียง

โครงการนี้เกิดจากข้อมูลพื้นที่ที่พบว่า สตรีตั้งครรภ์ในอำเภอแม่สาย แม่ฟ้าหลวง แม่จัน และเชียงแสน ยังประสบข้อจำกัดในการเข้าถึงบริการฝากครรภ์และการคลอด เนื่องจากข้อจำกัดด้านเศรษฐฐานะและสิทธิการรักษาพยาบาล มฟล. จึงจัดสรรงบประมาณสนับสนุน 7,200,000 บาท เพื่อรับผิดชอบค่าใช้จ่ายส่วนเกินสิทธิทั้งหมด โดยไม่จำกัดประเภทสิทธิการรักษาของผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการ

"โครงการนี้ครอบคลุมการดูแลอย่างครบวงจรใน 3 ระยะ ได้แก่ ระยะฝากครรภ์ ระยะคลอด และระยะหลังคลอด รวมถึงการดูแลทารกแรกเกิด ภายใต้ทีมแพทย์เฉพาะทาง เพื่อให้มั่นใจว่าสตรีตั้งครรภ์ทุกรายจะได้รับบริการที่มีคุณภาพและปลอดภัยโดยปราศจากภาระค่าใช้จ่าย" อาจารย์ นพ.ไอยรา วงศ์เปี้ย กล่าว

โครงการเปิดให้บริการตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 มิถุนายน 2569 ถึง 31 พฤษภาคม 2571 โดย มฟล. มุ่งหวังให้เครือข่ายสาธารณสุขระดับพื้นที่ร่วมคัดกรองและประสานส่งต่อสตรีตั้งครรภ์กลุ่มเปราะบางเข้าสู่โครงการอย่างทั่วถึง หญิงตั้งครรภ์ในจังหวัดเชียงรายและพื้นที่ใกล้เคียงที่สนใจสามารถสอบถามและลงทะเบียนได้ที่โรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง

ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ศิริชนะ ประธานกรรมการบริหารงานโรงพยาบาลศูนย์การแพทย์มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง กล่าวว่าโครงการนี้จัดขึ้นด้วยจิตสำนึกแห่งความกตัญญูต่อสมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ผู้ทรงมีพระมหากรุณาธิคุณต่อมหาวิทยาลัยมาอย่างยาวนาน ทั้งการเสด็จฯ แทนพระองค์ในพิธีเปิดมหาวิทยาลัย การพระราชทานปริญญาบัตรทุกรุ่น และการเสด็จฯ เปิดศูนย์ภาษาและวัฒนธรรมจีนสิรินธร โครงการนี้จึงถวายเป็นพระราชกุศล ด้วยการให้บริการคลอดบุตรแก่สตรีกลุ่มเปราะบาง 720 คน โดยไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย

ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษ ดร.วันชัย ยอมรับว่าโรงพยาบาลยังไม่พร้อมด้านทรัพยากรในบางด้าน แต่เน้นว่าสิ่งที่พร้อมที่สุดคือ "ใจ" ของผู้ปฏิบัติงาน พร้อมย้ำว่านี่คือภารกิจของทุกคน และสตรีทุกคนที่เข้าร่วมจะได้รับการดูแลในมาตรฐานโรงพยาบาลชั้นหนึ่ง ไม่ใช่การรักษาแบบสงเคราะห์

โครงการนี้ยังมีคุณค่าในวงกว้าง โดยช่วยลดความเหลื่อมล้ำด้านสุขภาพสำหรับสตรีที่เข้าไม่ถึงการฝากครรภ์และการคลอดที่ปลอดภัย ลดความเสี่ยงจากภาวะแทรกซ้อน และป้องกันการสูญเสียทั้งมารดาและทารก เพราะการลงทุนในชีวิตตั้งแต่วันแรกของการเกิดคือการวางรากฐานที่ยั่งยืนที่สุดสำหรับสังคมและประเทศชาติ

MFU Launches "720 Bonds of Care: Safe Delivery, Free of Charge" Project for 720 Vulnerable Women in Honor of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's 72nd Birthday

Mae Fah Luang University's School of Medicine, in collaboration with MFU Medical Center Hospital, officially launched the "720 Bonds of Care: Safe Delivery, Free of Charge" project on June 10, 2026, at MFU Medical Center Hospital, Chiang Rai Province.

The initiative aims to provide free antenatal care and delivery services to 720 vulnerable women, in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on the auspicious occasion of Her 72nd birthday.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Chairman of the MFU Council, joined by Assistant Professor Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, MFU President; Associate Professor Dr. Preecha Soontranan, Dean of the School of Medicine; Dr. Achara La-ongnualpanich, Director of MFU Medical Center Hospital; along with representatives from government agencies and local public health networks.

The project was initiated in response to data indicating that pregnant women in Mae Sai, Mae Fah Luang, Mae Chan, and Chiang Saen districts face significant barriers in accessing antenatal and delivery services due to financial constraints and limitations in healthcare entitlement. MFU has allocated 7,200,000 baht to cover all expenses exceeding participants' existing benefits, with no restrictions on the type of healthcare entitlement held.

"This project provides comprehensive care across three stages: antenatal, delivery, and postnatal — including care for newborns, under the supervision of a specialist medical team,  to ensure that every pregnant woman receives high-quality, safe healthcare services at no cost," said Dr. Ayara Wongpia.

The project runs from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2028. MFU aims to work closely with local public health networks to screen and refer eligible vulnerable pregnant women to the program. Pregnant women in Chiang Rai and surrounding areas who wish to participate may register at MFU Medical Center Hospital.

Professor Dr. Vanchai Sirichana, Chairman of the Board of Mae Fah Luang University Medical Center Hospital, said the project was initiated out of profound gratitude to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for her longstanding benevolence toward the University. Over the years, Her Royal Highness has graciously represented His Majesty the King at the University’s inauguration ceremony, conferred degrees upon every graduating class, and presided over the opening of the Sirindhorn Chinese Language and Culture Center. In honor of Her Royal Highness and as an act of merit-making dedicated to her, the project will provide free maternity and childbirth services to 720 vulnerable women.

Professor Dr. Vanchai acknowledged that the hospital is still developing its capacity in certain areas. However, he emphasized that its greatest strength lies in the commitment and compassion of its personnel.He stressed that this initiative is a shared mission and affirmed that every woman participating in the program  will receive care that meets the standards of a leading hospital—not charitable treatment, but quality healthcare delivered with dignity and respect.

Beyond its immediate impact, the project contributes to reducing health disparities among women who lack access to antenatal care and safe childbirth services. By lowering the risk of complications and helping prevent maternal and infant mortality, the initiative reflects a broader commitment to social well-being. Investing in life from the very beginning, he noted, is one of the most meaningful and sustainable investments a society can make for its future.
