มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง (มฟล.) โดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ร่มเย็น โกไศยกานนท์ รองอธิการบดี พร้อมด้วยชินวร ฑีฆะวัฒนากร นายกองค์การบริหาร องค์การนักศึกษา มฟล. และผู้แทนชมรมนักศึกษาเพื่อสิทธิมนุษยชน เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมแถลงข่าวเตรียมความพร้อมจัดกิจกรรม "Chiang Rai Pride 2026" ที่นำโดยนายนรศักดิ์ สุขสมบูรณ์ รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเชียงราย และภาคีเครือข่ายจากหน่วยงานภาครัฐและเอกชน เพื่อร่วมขับเคลื่อนสังคมที่โอบรับความหลากหลายทางเพศและส่งเสริมการอยู่ร่วมกันอย่างให้เกียรติในจังหวัดเชียงราย

กิจกรรม Chiang Rai Pride 2026 กำหนดจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 14 มิถุนายน 2569 ภายใต้แนวคิด "Be You, Be Proud, Be Pride" โดยมีไฮไลต์สำคัญ ได้แก่ ขบวนพาเหรดเดินเข้าสู่บริเวณเซ็นทรัลพลาซ่าเชียงราย พร้อมเปิดพื้นที่ Pride Market สำหรับผู้ประกอบการชุมชนและกลุ่มเปราะบาง รวมถึงบูธกิจกรรม การแสดงบนเวที และการลงนามบันทึกข้อตกลงความร่วมมือกับเครือข่ายระดับประเทศ การจัดงานครั้งนี้ขับเคลื่อน 3 ประเด็นสำคัญ ได้แก่ การเคารพสิทธิมนุษยชนและศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์ การกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจชุมชนและการท่องเที่ยว และการสร้างสุขภาวะเมืองสร้างสรรค์ที่โอบรับความแตกต่างทุกมิติ

ในโอกาสนี้ มฟล. ได้นำเสนอในช่วงการประชุมเตรียมจัดกิจกรรมดังกล่าวถึงนโยบายโอบรับความหลากหลายทางเพศที่มหาวิทยาลัยดำเนินการอยู่อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม 5 ด้าน ได้แก่ การอนุญาตให้นักศึกษาแต่งกายตามเพศสภาพ การเปิดให้นักศึกษาเลือกเพื่อนร่วมห้องในหอพักได้อย่างอิสระ การรองรับสถานะสมรสของพนักงานที่มีความหลากหลายทางเพศพร้อมจัดสรรสวัสดิการคู่สมรสอย่างเท่าเทียม การจัดทำห้องน้ำสำหรับทุกเพศ (All Inclusive Restrooms) และการบรรจุรายวิชาด้านมิติทางเพศและการพัฒนา เช่น Gender Economics และ Gender and Development ในหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอน

นอกจากนี้ มฟล. ยังได้เสนอต่อที่ประชุมถึงแนวทางการยกระดับเชียงรายสู่การเป็น "พื้นที่ปลอดภัยของทุกความแตกต่าง" โดยอาศัยจุดแข็งของจังหวัดที่มีความหลากหลายทางชาติพันธุ์และวัฒนธรรมอยู่แล้วเป็นทุนเดิม ทั้งยังมีนักศึกษาต่างชาติจากอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง ความหลากหลายเหล่านี้ถือเป็นรากฐานที่มั่นคงในการขยายการยอมรับไปสู่มิติความหลากหลายทางเพศด้วย เพื่อผลักดันให้เชียงรายเป็นเมืองที่โอบรับทุกอัตลักษณ์อย่างแท้จริงในระดับสากล

มฟล. ดำเนินนโยบายด้าน “Well-being and Sustainable Future” มาอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยมุ่งสร้างพื้นที่แห่งการเรียนรู้ที่ปลอดภัยและเปิดกว้างสำหรับทุกคน ไม่ว่าจะมีความแตกต่างด้านเพศสภาพหรือภูมิหลังทางวัฒนธรรมใด การร่วมขับเคลื่อนกิจกรรมครั้งนี้สะท้อนบทบาทของมหาวิทยาลัยในฐานะสถาบันการศึกษาที่ส่งเสริมความเข้าใจและการอยู่ร่วมกันอย่างให้เกียรติ เพื่อร่วมผลักดันเชียงรายสู่การเป็นพื้นที่แห่งความเท่าเทียมในระดับสากล

MFU Joins Chiang Rai Pride 2026 Joint Press Conference to Foster an Inclusive Society

Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) joined the press conference for "Chiang Rai Pride 2026," represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont, Vice President, alongside chinavorn Teekawattanakorn, President of the MFU Student Organization, and representatives from the MFU Human Rights Student Club. 

The event was led by Mr. Norasak Suksomboon, Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai Province, alongside public and private sector partners, in a collective effort to advance a society that embraces gender diversity and promotes mutual respect across Chiang Rai Province.

Chiang Rai Pride 2026 is scheduled for June 14, 2026 under the theme "Be You, Be Proud, Be Pride." Highlights include a parade into Central Plaza Chiang Rai, a Pride Market open to community entrepreneurs and vulnerable groups, activity booths, stage performances, and the signing of memoranda of understanding with national networks. The event is driven by three core agendas: upholding human rights and human dignity, stimulating the community economy and tourism, and building a creative, inclusive city that embraces diversity in all dimensions.

At the preparatory meeting, MFU presented five concrete gender-inclusive policies currently in place at the university: permitting students to dress according to their gender identity; allowing students to freely choose their on-campus roommates; recognizing the marital status of LGBTQ+ employees and providing equal spousal welfare benefits; providing All Inclusive Restrooms on campus; and integrating gender-focused courses — including Gender Economics and Gender and Development — into the academic curriculum.

MFU also proposed a pathway toward positioning Chiang Rai as a "safe space for all differences," drawing on the province's existing strengths in ethnic and cultural diversity, as well as its international student community from across the Greater Mekong Subregion. These foundations, the university argued, provide a solid base from which to extend acceptance to gender diversity, helping to establish Chiang Rai as a city that genuinely embraces every identity on the global stage.
