ศูนย์นวัตกรรมสมุนไพรครบวงจร (Medicinal Plants Innovation Center: MPIC) มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง จัดโครงการฝึกอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการนานาชาติ ระยะเวลา 7 วัน ในหัวข้อ "Herbal Processing, Extraction and GMP/PIC/S-Compliant Product Manufacturing Programme" ระหว่างวันที่ 13–19 กรกฎาคม 2569 ณ อาคารปรีคลินิก (M3) โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเสริมสร้างศักยภาพทางวิชาการและทักษะเชิงปฏิบัติแก่ผู้เข้าร่วมนานาชาติในการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์สมุนไพรที่ได้มาตรฐานสำหรับใช้ในทางการแพทย์แผนไทย ผลิตภัณฑ์เพื่อสุขภาพ และเครื่องสำอาง

โครงการดังกล่าวอยู่ภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ระวิวรรณ์ เจริญทรัพย์ หัวหน้าศูนย์นวัตกรรมสมุนไพรครบวงจร ในฐานะหัวหน้าโครงการ (Principal Investigator) โดยมีเนื้อหาครอบคลุมการบูรณาการองค์ความรู้ภายใต้มาตรฐาน GMP/PICs ร่วมกับตำรามาตรฐานยาสมุนไพรไทย (Thai Herbal Pharmacopoeia: THP) รวมถึงมาตรฐานสากล WHO และ USP เพื่อความปลอดภัย คุณภาพ และความสอดคล้องเชิงกฎระเบียบของผลิตภัณฑ์

พิธีเปิดโครงการจัดขึ้นในวันที่ 13 กรกฎาคม 2569 โดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ระวิวรรณ์ เจริญทรัพย์ กล่าวต้อนรับผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการ ทั้งนี้ ในวันที่ 15 กรกฎาคม 2569 ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สุจิตรา วงศ์เกษมจิตต์ รองอธิการบดี มฟล. ได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมการฝึกอบรมดังกล่าว พร้อมให้การต้อนรับผู้เข้าร่วมอบรมจากนานาชาติอย่างเป็นทางการอีกครั้งหนึ่ง

การฝึกอบรมครั้งนี้ ประกอบด้วยหัวข้อสำคัญ ได้แก่ การตรวจสอบและระบุชนิดพืชวัตถุดิบสมุนไพรทั้งในระดับมหภาคและจุลทรรศน์ตามมาตรฐาน THP, กระบวนการจัดการวัตถุดิบหลังการเก็บเกี่ยวภายใต้ระบบ GMP/PICs, เทคนิคการสกัดสารสำคัญและการแยกสารด้วยโครมาโทกราฟี (TLC, HP-TLC และ Column Chromatography), การผลิตผลิตภัณฑ์แพทย์แผนไทยในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ อาทิ แคปซูลสมุนไพร ลูกประคบ น้ำมันสมุนไพร ยาดม และยาหม่อง ตลอดจนการควบคุมคุณภาพวัตถุดิบและผลิตภัณฑ์สำเร็จรูปทั้งด้านกายภาพ จุลชีววิทยา และการตรวจวิเคราะห์โลหะหนักด้วยเทคนิค ICP-MS/MS นอกจากนี้ ผู้เข้าร่วมยังได้เยี่ยมชมศึกษาดูงานด้านเกษตรอัจฉริยะ (Smart Farming) เพื่อเสริมมุมมองด้านเทคโนโลยีการเกษตรสมัยใหม่

โครงการนี้นับเป็นการตอบโจทย์ยุทธศาสตร์ของมหาวิทยาลัย ในการสร้างความร่วมมือในระดับนานาชาติ ส่งเสริมบรรยากาศแห่งการเรียนรู้ท่ามกลางความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรม โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมอบรม 12 คน จาก 7 ประเทศ ได้แก่ สาธารณรัฐฟิลิปปินส์ สาธารณรัฐอินเดีย สาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมา ราชอาณาจักรภูฏาน มาเลเซีย สาธารณรัฐอิสลามปากีสถาน และสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน สะท้อนถึงบทบาทของมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ในการเป็นศูนย์กลางองค์ความรู้ด้านสมุนไพรและการแพทย์แผนไทยในระดับภูมิภาคและนานาชาติ

MFU Hosts International Training Program on Standardized Herbal Processing and GMP/PIC/S Compliance

The Medicinal Plants Innovation Center (MPIC), Mae Fah Luang University, hosts a 7-day international intensive training program titled "Herbal Processing, Extraction and GMP/PIC/S-Compliant Product Manufacturing Programme" from July 13–19, 2026, at the Pre-Clinic Building (M3). The program aims to strengthen the academic knowledge and practical skills of international participants in developing standardized herbal products for traditional Thai medicine, health products, and cosmetic applications.

The program is led by Associate Professor Dr. Rawiwan Charoensup, Director of the Medicinal Plants Innovation Center, serving as Principal Investigator. The training content integrates GMP/PIC/S compliance with the Thai Herbal Pharmacopoeia (THP) as well as international WHO and USP standards, ensuring product safety, quality assurance, and regulatory alignment.

The opening ceremony was held on July 13, 2026, with welcome remarks delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Rawiwan Charoensup. On July 15, 2026, Professor Dr. Sujitra Wongkasemjit, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University, visited the training session to officially welcome the international participants.

The comprehensive training covers key topics including macroscopic and microscopic raw herbal material identification aligned with THP standards, post-harvest raw material handling under GMP/PIC/S requirements, extraction and chromatographic separation techniques (TLC, HP-TLC, and Column Chromatography), and the manufacturing of Traditional Thai Medicine products in various forms, such as herbal capsules, herbal compress balls, medicinal oils, herbal inhalers, and balms. The program also encompasses quality control of raw materials and finished products—including physical, microbiological, and heavy-metal analysis via ICP-MS/MS—alongside an educational field visit to a smart farming facility to enhance perspectives on modern agricultural technology.

This program successfully aligns with the university's strategy to foster international cooperation and promote a learning atmosphere amidst cultural diversity. A total of 12 international participants from 7 countries take part in the program: the Philippines, India, Myanmar,  Bhutan, Malaysia, Pakistan, and  China—underscoring Mae Fah Luang University's role as a regional and international hub for herbal medicine and traditional Thai medicine knowledge.
